FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL Opens Accreditation for Professional Week!
Exciting line up of photographers sign on to exhibit their work and cutting-edge conferences programmed!
The first international FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL, to take place in Tarragona Spain this coming October, is THE event – where the world’s best Food Photographers will meet for exhibitions, workshops and networking!
The exhibitions will be open to the public from 30th of September to 17th of October from 10 am - 8 pm. Photographers from all over the world have applied for participation - and half of the exhibits have already been selected by the organizers.
Among the participants are:
Thomas Duval (France), photographer of many Alain Ducasse books, will be showing his “Bondage Végétale” series.
Neil Corder (South Africa), whom Lürzer's Archive cited as one of the world's best advertising photographers, will show a series devoted to wine.
Francesc Guillamet (Spain), together with Ferran Adrià, defies the stainless-steel aesthetic and reverts to enamel cookware.
Jan-Peter Westermann (Germany) will depict food in Chinese monasteries - sensitive and very stimulating!
We are especially proud and excited to announce the participation of Peter Knaup (Germany/France) – the illustrious photographer who has been a major influence for decades. He will be exhibiting a special series of still life images in 4x5 inch format, taken in in the south of France, in addition to his food photo productions.
Exhibitions Halls
The exhibition sites in Tarragona have been selected – in addition to the renovated warehouse docks at the harbor, we are adding the Central Market Hall, Casa Canals, the Antic Ajuntament (Old Town Hall) and the former “Mercat del Forum” in the city.
Conferences
During the Festival’s Professional Week – from 30th of September to 3rd of October, Food Photography professionals from all over the world will be brought together. These four days will provide a rare opportunity for people to meet others in their field; to facilitate an interchange of experiences; discuss trends; discover new products and find partners for the realization of new projects.
Two distinguished food stylists - Denise Vivaldi and Cindie Flannigan of Los Angeles - will be leading a conference on cultural differences in food styling between the USA and Europe. There will be also conferences on creating Apps, web-presentations, international license rights, marketing tools for photographers, …
